Frequently Asked Questions

WhatsApp Business API is an application programming interface introduced by Facebook to allow businesses to communicate with their customers at scale. It is not an out-of-the-box solution but an API through which businesses can send and receive messages, develop a chatbot, and integrate it with their apps and websites. For Example; If your customer orders online from your e-commerce website, you can send the receipt to the customer automatically through WhatsApp.

No. Access to WhatsApp Business API is absolutely free.
There is no one-time setup fee or onboarding fee.
We will submit your profile to WhatsApp and once you are approved as per WhatsApp’s Commerce Policy, then we will integrate your WhatsApp Authorised Business Account with the kwiqreply platform.
Please note that the charges that you pay us are solely for the usage of the kwiqreply platform.

When a customer initiates a message with a business, the business can reply within 24 hours. All outgoing messages from businesses during these 24 hours are customer support messages.

WhatsApp message templates are message formats for common reusable notifications a business may want to send its users. Businesses must use Message Templates for sending messages outside the 24-hour Customer Service Window to any customers. Your Message Templates will be reviewed by WhatsApp to ensure they do not violate WhatsApp policies.

When a customer does not initiate a conversation by sending a direct message to business, businesses can send template-approved messages after the template has been approved. These messages can be order update messages, shipping update messages, appointment reminders, etc. Template Message Fees vary by country. All template messages must be pre-approved.

WhatsApp charges a fixed fee for each conversation as a 24-hour incremental session. Pricing is different for every country. You can check the full list here:- https://developers.facebook.com/docs/whatsapp/pricing/conversationpricing

Outgoing Session Messages (Customer Support Messages) are completely free on WhatsApp using kwiqreply.

No. There are no fees for incoming messages on WhatsApp Business unless the business responds using kwiqreply.

Monthly Unique Contacts can be defined as any unique phone number that interacts with your WhatsApp Authorised Business Account number. A Monthly Unique Contact is counted only if there is at least 1 incoming message and 1 outgoing message to that number in a duration of 1 month. The Monthly Unique Contacts count is reset every month.

kwiqreply works on top of the official WhatsApp Business APIs. We submit your profile to WhatsApp for approval. Once your WhatsApp Authorised Business Account is approved you can start using kwiqreply immediately. Getting you approved is on us and your billing will start only once you are approved by WhatsApp.

Yes, you can use an existing WhatsApp number with kwiqreply. However, you will need to first delete the account linked to that, prior to onboarding with kwiqreply. To know more about how to delete your WhatsApp account, please visit how-to-delete-your-account. how-to-delete-your-account.
In fact, you can provide any number that can receive an OTP to be used for kwiqreply - this could be a virtual number or a regular SIM number. However, a phone number already being used with the WhatsApp Business API cannot be migrated to kwiqreply. You will have to then provide a different phone number.
Once we connect the number with kwiqreply, it will not work with other WhatsApp Apps and will work only with kwiqreply’s dashboard. If it is a virtual number that is tied to kwiqreply, then normal voice calls can be made as usual, but WhatsApp voice and video calls are not supported via WhatsApp Business API.

Businesses that have been granted the Official Business Account (OBA) status on WhatsApp, get a green tick beside their business name. This results in the display name of the number being shown by default, without the WhatsApp business number being explicitly saved by your users.
As kwiqreply is a WhatsApp Business solution provider, we can apply for the green tick on your behalf for free, once you have supported 50+ users on WhatsApp via kwiqreply. However, we can not influence WhatsApp's decision with regard to approving your green tick. Their decision in this regard would be final.
Getting a Verified WhatsApp Green tick account depends on multiple factors such as:

  1. 1. Brand/company credibility
  2. 2. Total amount of followers on social media
  3. 3. Domain ranking and authority
All these factors can influence your green tick approval.
To request for a green tick verification, you can simply connect with our support team and send in a request. Once your request for the green tick is approved, your number will automatically be displayed as your business name, to your users along with the green tick. This will show that your business is verified and authentic.

Bring your own number. You can give us any valid number (from any country) and we can set it up as your Official WhatsApp API number. We will send a One Time Password (OTP) to verify that you own the number. Remember that once you set up a number on the Official WhatsApp API, you cannot downgrade to a WhatsApp Business Account or regular WhatsApp Account.

You can send promotional or marketing bulk messages to your existing customer base who have opted in to receive messages from you. You can also use the API to send transactional messages. For example, shipping updates, payment reminders, appointment updates, etc.

Business-Initiated conversations are essentially conversations initiated by a business, using approved template messages. A conversation that begins when a company sends a message to a customer outside of the 24 hour customer service window. Messages that start a business-initiated conversation require the business to send a message template first.

There are three categories of Business-initiated conversations:

  • 1. Utility Conversations - Messages to facilitate an update, transaction, or request on an ongoing conversation. These type of messages are post-purchase notifications, timely invoice sharing, billing statements etc.
  • 2. Authentic Conversations - These types of messages enable a business to authenticate their users with the help of One-time Passwords(OTPs). This can be used for account authentication, account verification and account recovery of the users.
  • 3. Marketing Conversations - These are messages that businesses can use to send promotions, offers, or invitations. Service conversation - Also known as user-initiated conversation. A conversation that begins as a result of a message sent by a user. When a company responds to a user within the 24-hour customer service window, that message is categorized as a service conversation. Within this 24-hour customer service window, businesses can send free-form messages.
